Our eastern friend, Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indegineous People of Biafra(IPOB) has claimed that the Nigerian Government offered him Biafra while he was in prison. According to Vanguard newspapers, Kanu rejected this offer because Rivers and Benue states were excluded from the Federal Government’s initial deal. This claim was made to leaders of Igbo Civil Society Coalition who had paid him a visit at his home in Umuahia.
Kanu also claimed he rejected an oil block and a mansion in Dubai, which were aimed at making him abandon his cause but he insisted on the actualization of his dream.
“They gave me Biafra in prison with only the five Igbo states; I said no, I want Benue and Rivers”, Kanu said, adding that “Biafra is coming, there is nothing to stop it”.
Whether the Government will respond to Kanu’s claims remains to be seen.
